Hi-Q 2019 Winter Campaign Terms & Conditions

1. Promotion Rules
1.1 The Hi-Q Year-End awardscard® Promotion will run from 27 May until close of business on 9 July 2019 (“Promotion Period”) or while stock of awardscards® lasts. No awardscards® will be offered before the start date of the promotion.
1.2 The promotion is open to all South African citizens or permanent residents who are over 18 years, except directors, members, partners, employees of Hi-Q and its affiliates (the “Organiser”) and its advertising and/or promotion agencies, consultants and business partners, outlet owners, retailers and wholesalers that form part of the promotion and their immediate families.

2. Eligibility requirements to receive an awardscard®
2.1 To be eligible to receive an awardscard®, a customer must purchase a minimum of 2 or more Goodyear branded tyres, size 15” or larger(“Promotional Tyres”, as further described in paragraph 2.3 below), which must be purchased by way of a single transaction at a Hi-Q during the Promotion period.
2.2 The purchased Promotional Tyres must be fitted in store on the date of the purchase.
2.3 The awardscards® will be loaded with R200 each, per 2 tyres purchased, determined by inch size of the tyre purchased, based on the guide below:

  • 2 x Goodyear branded tyres (15”, 16”, 17”) = R200 (1 card)
  • 4 x Goodyear branded tyres (15”, 16”, 17”) = R400 (2 cards)
  • 2 x Goodyear branded tyres (18” or larger) = R400 (2 cards)
  • 4 x Goodyear branded tyres (18” or larger) = R800 (4 cards)

2.4 Fitting, balancing, alignment, valves and related services are excluded from the purchase.
2.5 The awardscards® are not transferrable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash at Hi-Q stores, either in whole or in part.
2.6 The awardscards® will not be offered to the customer for any wholesaling or interbranch transfers.

3. Rules for the use of the awardscard®:
3.1 To reduce the risk of fraudulent activity on the awardscard®, the awardscard® is sent to the customer in an inactive state.
3.2 To activate your card, follow the instructions provided on the card holder.
3.3 The awardscard® is only valid for the period printed on the face of the awardscard (“the Validity Period”).
3.4 The awardscard® may be used during the Validity Period to pay for goods and services at South African Card Merchants who accept MasterCard®. If a Card Merchant who displays the MasterCard® logo fails to accept the awardscard®, please contact the Customer Service Line on 0860 11 6666
3.5 Customers must present the awardscard® at the time of payment to the Merchant.
3.6 Certain Merchants may allow the use of the funds in your awardscard® account towards a portion of the full purchase price of the goods or services in conjunction with another form of payment (e.g. cash, credit card etc.) This arrangement is at the discretion of the Merchant. The Organiser will not be part of nor be held liable in any manner whatsoever in this arrangement between the Merchant and the customer.
3.7 Any complaints regarding goods or services purchased at a Merchant must be addressed directly to the Merchant. Achievement Awards Group (Pty) Ltd., Hi-Q Automotive (Pty) Ltd. and Goodyear South Africa (Pty) Ltd. are not responsible or liable to you for the quality, safety, or any other aspect of any goods or services purchased from any Merchant with the awardscard®.
3.8 Customers will not be charged any fees on any purchases made at selected Card Merchants using the awardscard® nor will interest be earned on any funds available on the awardscard®
3.9 An awardscard® is not transferrable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash, either in whole or in part.
3.10 The awardscard® cannot be used for ATM or bank teller transactions, or to pay for goods or services over the telephone or Internet, or for Cash Back services at a Merchant’s cashier, or to pay toll-fees; or online shopping via the Online Catalogue of Awards. the awardscard® or may not be accepted at certain casinos.
3.11 If the awardscard® is no longer in use, it must be destroyed by cutting it up.
3.12 The customer must report any damaged, lost or stolen awardscard® to Customer Service Line (0860 11 6666). No refunds will be provided for amounts debited from the lost/stolen awardscard® during the period between the loss and the reporting thereof to us.

4. General
4.1 In the event that any dispute arises with regard to the Promotion and/or the Promotional Rules including the interpretation thereof, the decision of the Organisers is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
4.2 The Promotion is conducted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Should any of these Promotional Rules be deemed void or unenforceable, then that rule will be deemed to be deleted and the remaining rules will remain in force.
4.3 The Organisers reserve the right to amend these Promotional Rules in their sole discretion should they consider this appropriate, before the Promotion closes, and any such amendment(s) shall be posted on the Hi-Q website www.hiq.co.za
4.4 The customer acknowledges and hereby consents to the Organisers collecting certain personal information about the customer for the purposes of this Promotion, including the customer’s identity/passport number and contact details such as telephone number(s) and email address(es). The Organisers undertake not to sell or share this information to or with third parties but may disclose the information if required by law.
4.5 The Organisers and/or and the Hi-Q Outlets may require the customer to be identified and photographed and may publish such photographs in print and/or social media, or to appear on radio and television, when accepting the awardscard(s)® or after having received the awardscard(s)®. The customer will be given the opportunity to decline the publication of their images and to participate in such promotional marketing material.
4.6 The Organisers reserve the right to cancel, suspend or terminate the Promotion at any time. The Organisers shall have no liability whatsoever to the customer and/or third party arising from or as a consequence of such cancellation, suspension or termination.
4.7 To the fullest extent permitted by law:
4.7.1 neither the Organisers nor the Hi-Q Outlets shall be liable for any: claims, damages or losses (whether direct, indirect, general, special, incidental, consequential or punitive), expenses or costs (including, without limitation, costs on an attorney and own client scale) or injuries of whatsoever nature (together referred to as “Losses”), suffered by the Customer or any third party arising from or as a result of this Promotion (whether directly or indirectly) and/or the customer’s participation in this Promotion ; and
4.7.2 the customer indemnifies and holds harmless the Organisers and the Hi-Q Outlets against any Losses, howsoever caused or arising.
4.8 To the fullest extent permitted by law, the customer accepts and uses the awardscard(s)® at the customer’s own risk and expressly agrees that the neither the Organisers nor the Hi-Q Outlets will be liable in any way for any costs incurred by the customer in claiming their awardscard(s)®.
